PISTA'Y DASOL BAY 2011

Dasolinians had fun during the recently concluded “Pista’y Dasol Bay 2011” which was held on May 13-14, 2011 at the breezy beachfront of barangay Macalang.  Highlighted by different activities like product    exhibit wherein products which are     “exclusively Dasol” are put on show;   salt sculpting which showcased the resourcefulness, skill and creativity of young Dasolinians and at the same time, a promotional activity forDasol’s prime commodity:   salt. Beach volleyball and bancathon were the sports activities enjoyed by  both participants and spectators alike.  Filipino tradition and culture was revived during the kite-flying competition wherein colorful kites were displayed in the blue skies of Barangay Macalang.

To complete the highlights of the event, The Search for Miss Dasol Bay 2011 was held on the night of May 14, 2011. Six beauties from different barangays competed in the said search  wherein Miss Jamica Colorado from Eguia bagged the coveted title;  Miss Carolina Alvez from Amalbalan was 1st Runner Up; and Miss Angel Sangalang from Poblacion, 2nd Runner Up. 

Shoreline clean-up on May 14, 2011 is equally important event of the Pista’y Dasol Bay.  This is to show value to our environment specifically to our shorelines; and also a manifestation of sense of responsibility of each individual towards nature.
