Dasol Centennial Mardi Gras
Showcasing their talents on choreography and dancing, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Dasol gracefully and energetically paraded along the thoroughfares of Poblacion on a Mardi Gras last Saturday, March 12, 2011.
Culminating the town fiesta and centennial celebrations, sixteen (16) groups of street dancers competed as they performed their best on a two-minute exhibition at the five (5) designated stations by the committee and on a five-minute final showdown at the Dasol Central School quadrangle.
The panel of credible judges composed of five (5) who are not Dasolinians, headed by Mr. Mike Sison, City Tourism Officer of Alaminos City, Pangasinan, found it hard to decide who is capable and deserving, for every group really deserves to be a winner.
There should only be one winner on top of the other in a contest. And so, adjudged as the best performers bagging the first prize worth PhP 20,000.00 is the group of barangay Eguia, followed by barangays Malimpin and San Vicente with prizes worth PhP 15,000.00 and PhP 10,000.00, for the second and third place, respectively. Other groups went home with Php 5,000.00 cold cash as their participation prize, thus making all of them winners.
That is Dasol Mardi Gras 2011, an event worth remembering.
